Hello Everyone!
Nice to see you here! Don’t worry if you’re new because, guess what? I’m new too!
New to this blog, new to how to work this blog (I am currently 18 minutes in on the 59 minute tutorial I found on YouTube), new to owning a home, paying a mortgage, newish to 20+ inches of snow (all of you fellow East coasters), the list goes on and on!
HOWEVER, I am one for trying new things and taking chances. I am also one for crossing things off of lists and one of the things on my Bucket List is, in fact: “starting and maintaining a blog for at least a year”. So, sink or swim, this is it!
Something about me: I like to be around people, so I would LOVE IT if I didn’t have to do this on my own! Join me in my adventure (apparently, the proper term is “Follow Me!”). I can’t promise much, but I have a pretty strong suspicion that at the very least, we will never be bored around here. 🙂
My plan is to post about many a thing (again, I get bored easily): adventures I/we go on, home projects, creative things that I want to try, mistakes we have made during home ownership, things we come across in the world of Youth Ministry, etc.
Well, enough of that already. Let’s get to the good stuff!
HAPPY POST- VALENTINE’S DAY! I know, I know… I’m late to the party.
Actually, this morning, we (myself and a few girls and leaders from our Youth Group) had a Valentine’s Day Brunch at my house to celebrate… and it was fabulous!Orange juice, bagels, scrambled eggs, and french toast casserole all around!
Two good great things about hosting parties:
1. It forces me to clean the house.
2. At least one new addition or item that has been on our Home To-Do list becomes a reality “in honor of the occasion”
Everyone wins! Here is some of the fun that went into our Valentine’s Day Brunch:
Above: Table Set-Up in Progress…
Below: Working out the kinks!
Below: Party favors for the girls! More about these later…
The other nice thing about all of this? I get to keep it up for the rest of February!
Score.
Above: Kitchen decorated for the festivities!
Did you break out any red, white, and purple for the holidays? I’d love to hear about it!
Have a Happy February 15th! And really, go build a snowman before it’s all gone.
Until next time… Enjoy “the fun of it” 🙂
Your kitchen looks so bright and cheery, Leslie ~ a bit like you!
Thanks a lot, Aunt Becky! It means a lot that you stopped in to check out the blog! I spent quite a bit of time learning how to even set it up, so you should know that I definitely appreciate your comment! Lots of love, Leslie 🙂
Looking good Leslie! I have been thinking of starting a blog also, but the getting started part seems a bit daunting. Hope you and the girls had fun yesterday. Miss you all!
Hey Sue! It is a lot of learning… and a lot of reading to find answers to my questions, but once you get going, it seems to be getting easier. The blog and I were in a fight yesterday because it wasn’t doing what I wanted it to do… but you’ll figure it out! We should swap war stories if/when you start one.
